What is it?

The Graduate Certificate in Taxation is a 12-credit-hour program that can be completed in as few as two semesters (taking 6 credit hours per semester) or up to four semesters (taking 3 credit hours per semester). This program is well suited for business, accounting and law students interested in careers that require competency in tax law, and for those planning to enroll in a master’s or CPA program. This certificate emphasizes one of the key services areas in the CPA Profession. It is also designed to provide current tax preparers and investment advisors the additional training needed to advance their careers and better serve their clients.

Throughout the program, students will study business and personal income tax theory and applied methods required to be an immediate contributor in tax groups at CPA firms, corporations and other organizations. Students will master compliance with federal and state tax code as it pertains to individuals, corporations and other entities. They will also master tax planning strategies for individuals and businesses.
