Plan your UMSL path
Meet with your advisor at least once per semester
Keep tabs on your degree progress (MyDegree )
Make sure all core and general education requirements are completed
Make your 90 hour appointment to finalize your path to graduation
Meet with faculty in your major to discuss research or independent study options
Explore internship opportunities
Apply to graduate if you have determined your graduating semester.
Interested in graduate school?
Start preparation for standardized tests (GRE, OAT, GMAT, LSAT, etc)
Check the admission process and deadlines for programs of interest
Get feedback from faculty on any papers or projects that may be used as an example of your work
For international students
If you change your major or program, contact UMSL Global to update your I-20
Report any change of address within 10 days (through MyView )
Consult an international student advisor before accepting an internship or job off-campus
Maintain full time enrollment unless you have received prior approval from ISS
Consider serving as a leader at International Student Orientation
Attend an OPT workshop to learn about post-graduation work options (F-1 students only)
College or School Academic Advising
Students should go to the College or School Academic Advising Office that houses their major. Some colleges may refer you to a faculty advisor in your department. Virtual appointments are available.
