Lace up your running shoes for the annual UMSL Alumni 5K Run & Walk! This fun-filled event brings together alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends for a morning of fitness and community on the beautiful UMSL campus. Participants will receive an event T-shirt, race medal opportunities and other Triton-themed surprises. Awards are presented in multiple categories. Whether running, walking or cheering from the sidelines, this event is a great way to reconnect and celebrate UMSL pride!
Since 1987, the UMSL Alumni Association has proudly recognized alumni who exemplify excellence in their professions and communities. The Distinguished Alumni Award and Outstanding Young Alumni Award are the highest honors bestowed upon UMSL graduates, celebrating those who demonstrate outstanding achievements, integrity and leadership. These prestigious awards are presented annually at the Founders Celebration, where the university honors alumni who are making a lasting impact locally and globally. With more than 80,000 alumni in the St. Louis region, UMSL graduates continue to drive innovation and progress.
Dining with Tritons connects UMSL students with alumni for meaningful conversations over a shared meal. Held in restaurants, on campus or in alumni homes, these gatherings provide students with valuable networking opportunities to discuss career paths, industry trends and life after graduation. Alumni hosts share insights on internships, professional development and the importance of staying engaged with UMSL.
Each May, UMSL welcomes back alumni celebrating 50 years since graduation to honor their legacy and connection to the university. The Golden 50th Reunion is a special two-day event coinciding with commencement weekend, featuring campus tours, a Golden Alumni Luncheon and the Class Pinning Ceremony. Participants are also inducted into the Golden Circle, a distinguished recognition for alumni reaching this milestone.
The weekend culminates in the Golden Alumni Commencement March, where alumni don regalia and join the graduating class in a meaningful tribute to UMSL’s past and future.

Hosted by the Pierre Laclede Honors College, this formal event brings together students and alumni for a night of fun and tradition. Honors alumni are invited to an exclusive alumni-only cocktail hour before joining students on the dance floor. Whether you’re reconnecting with old friends or making new ones, this is an event you won’t want to miss!
Following commencement, the UMSL Alumni Association invites graduating students to the New Grad Bash, a block party-style event filled with music, food, drinks and giveaways. The evening features a DJ, yard games, a photo booth and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow graduates before embarking on your next adventure.
Presented by the UMSL Alumni Association and UMSL Business Alumni Chapter, the Salute to Business Achievement Awards honor College of Business alumni who have significantly contributed to their industries, the university and communities. Award recipients are recognized for entrepreneurial success, leadership, philanthropic efforts and innovation across various fields.
