Students are constantly asking “how is what I’m learning relevant to my major, to my career, or to the community?” Service-learning answers these questions by having the student utilize course material in a practical way, while simultaneously giving back to the community.
The unique learning opportunities offered by service-learning courses and service projects gives students hands-on experience with their subject matter, bestowing a better perspective of the material as well as providing a forum in-which to develop skills to be used in their professional careers.
