Jim Wieners
June 20, 2003
DEAR NEWMAN CENTER:
My name is Jim Wieners, a 1989 (May) Graduate of the University of Missouri-St.
Louis, majoring in Communications (Mass--Media). I currently have three part-time
jobs: Night Custodian Mondays-Fridays at St. Louis County Library, Prairie
Commons Branch, in Hazelwood; A free-lance sportswriter working The Independent
News, based in Florissant, publishing schedules vary per season; and working
weekends at drag races, April-October, at Mid-America Raceway, in Wentzville,
helping the scorers and starters by taking down car numbers and dial-in times
when they are in the staging area ready to race down the drag strip (1/8 or
1/4 mile).
In addition to my UM-St. Louis bachelors degree, I have an Associate Degree
in Data Processing at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley (Dec.
1977), spent one year at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (Aug.
1987 - Aug. 1988) and have been taking courses to improve my computer skills
at St. Charles Community College (currently taking Introduction to HTML). I
am currently single and living with my parents as well as my brother and one
of my three sisters in St. Peters, MO.
I cannot recall my favorite Newman moment except for activities that took place
at the UM-St. Louis Newman House, which included Sunday masses that took place
there.
I hope that you are up to date with what I have been doing. I would like to
also tell you that I am diabetic and have arthritis. Please pray for my family
and me that we can go through these tough times we all are experiencing.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely:
Jim Wieners
