e- Diffraction Practicals [CALC]#

  • Calibration: If a spot separation g on the negative is [mm] for a known d-value of [Å], then the camera constant λL is g×d= [mm-Å].
  • If operating voltage is [kV], then electron wavelength is λ= [Å] and the camera length L is [m].
  • If a spot separation g on the negative is [mm], then the d-value is λL/g= [Å].
  • After digitizing at [dpi], a spot separation g of [pixels] has d-value of dpi×λL/g= [Å].
  • A [/nm] reciprocal scalebar is g×dpi×λL= [pixels] wide.
Note: Edit values in red & green text, then press [CALC] to update values & increment #. Red text values are used in all subsequent calculations.
