Moving or Reassigning a Computer

Moving a Computer to Another Location

Requesting to move a computer from one location to another can easily be done by logging into the Remedy Request system and completing the Computer/Phone Move request form.  The form allows for requesting for yourself or on behalf of someone else.  Please collect the following information before submitting a request form:

  • serial number of computer
  • current building
  • current room
  • current data port number (if accessible)
  • new building
  • new room
  • new data port number (if accessible)
  • phone extension (if applicable)

Many computers also have a ShoreTel IP phone connected to them.  If the phone will need to be moved as well, please have the campus extension of the phone to be moved ready when submitting a request form.

Once the request form has been submitted, a confirmation email will be sent to the bITS department and/or unit contact.

Changing a Computer to a New or Different Employee

Requesting to reassign a computer to another employee can easily be done by logging into the Remedy Request system and completing the Computer/Phone Changing User request form.  The form allows for requesting for yourself or on behalf of someone else.  Please collect the following information before submitting a request form:

  • serial number of computer
  • current building
  • current room
  • phone extension (if applicable)

Many computers also have a ShoreTel IP phone connected to them.  If the phone will need to be reassigned as well, please have the campus extension of the phone to be reassigned ready when submitting a request form.
