Service-Learning at UMSL

Serving the Community/Serving Your Students

The CTL now has a dedicated Faculty Fellow to work with faculty, from TAs and adjunct instructors to non-tenured and tenure track faculty. Dr. Lynn Staley, Teaching Professor in English and Affiliate Faculty in Gender Studies, is a specialist in community engaged teaching practices. Meet with her virtually or one-on-one to brainstorm ways to integrate high-impact Service Learning projects into your courses. Dr. Staley can help you identify ways to work with experienced faculty to create assignments across all disciplines that connect students with local non-profit organizations working to make a difference in our community. Have a passion for a cause? Share that passion with your students! Service Learning creates memorable, practical, job ready experiences for students, and it doesn't need to be overwhelming as you develop innovative course practices. Contact Lynn at (314)401-0729, stop by her office in 425 Lucas Hall, or email her at for an appointment to learn how to serve your community and your students in exciting new ways!!!
