ABSTRACT: The Carl Norberg Yachting Collection consists of photographs and logbooks about yacht racing and yachting in general, as well as photographs pertaining to the travels and family life of Mr. Norberg.
DATE: 1912-1956
SCOPE:The Carl Norberg Yachting Collection contains photographs and log books related to yachting and yacht racing, as well as the travels and family life of Carl Norberg. The materials range from 1912 - 1938. The photographs have been indexed - a copy of the contents list is included in this finding aid. Please note that the photographs content list was not produced by the library and the library cannot vouch for the accuracy of the contents list.
The log books cover experiences written down by Mr. Norberg pertaining to his yachting experiences. The photographs are photos of yachts and yachting, as well as travels throughout the upper Midwest and East Coast, Norway, Germany, England, and The Netherlands.
EXTENT: 1.5 Linear feet
ACCESS: Due to the fragile nature of this collection, access to the collection may be restricted. When accessible, this collection is available for on-site use only in the Rare Book and Manuscripts Reading Room. Some of the collection may be photocopied, digitally scanned or photographed, depending on condition. Researchers are advised to call ahead concerning changes in hours due to University intersessions and holidays. The St. Louis Mercantile Library is located on levels one and two of the Thomas Jefferson Library building.
