B-2: Charles Rupp Railroad Timetable Collection

HISTORY: This collection was donated by the Philadelphia Athenaeum in 1993.

SCOPE: Well over one hundred railroads are represented in this collection, comprised of thousands of timetables, travel brochures, and related materials collected by Dr. Charles Rupp of Philadelphia. The timetables in this collection include many very rare publications, some dating back to the 19th century, and many items exemplary of the printers art and craft. Most of the collection dates from the 1930s to 1960s.
