Gary L. Flotron is principal of G. L. Flotron & Associates, and specializes in the areas of trust-owned life insurance, estate and business planning, and, executive and employee benefit plans. He is also the Associate Director Financial Planning Programs and an Adjunct Faculty member at the College of Business Administration, University of Missouri - St. Louis, where he teaches courses in estate and trust planning, planning for business owners and professionals, retirement planning, employee benefits and life insurance. An author and frequent national speaker, Gary has spoken to numerous professional associations and groups, including the Heckerling Institute On Estate Planning, the NAEPC Annual Conference, The Federal Tax Institute of New England, and, the LISI Webinar Programs. In April 2020 the American Bar Association Real Property, Trust and Estate Law published Gary’s book Understanding Life Insurance and Rethinking Policy Management and Evaluation: Explaining the Unexplainable.
Mr. Flotron has been an active member in various professional associations. He is a Past President of both the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC) and The NAEPC Education Foundation. A past Member of the National Board of Directors of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP), Mr. Flotron, in addition to having served on numerous National Committees and Task Forces, is the current Editor of the Estate Planning quarterly publication for FSP.
A past President of the FSP Greater St. Louis Chapter, Gary is also a past President of the Estate Planning Council of St. Louis, and past President of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors St. Louis Chapter.
Gary is the 1996 recipient of the Stan Towerman Excellence in Professional Education Award from the FSP Greater St. Louis Chapter. He was inducted into the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors St. Louis Chapter Hall of Fame in 2003. The University of Missouri – St. Louis named Mr. Flotron as the recipient of the 2014-2015 Chancellor’s Excellence Award for a Part-time Faculty Member.
An MBA graduate of the Washington University John M. Olin Graduate School of Business Administration, where he was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the National Business Honors Fraternity; Flotron completed his undergraduate work in engineering management with a concentration in electrical engineering (B.S.E.Mgt.) at the University of Missouri at Rolla (now Missouri University of Science and Technology).
Dr. Hainan Sheng is an Assistant Professor of Finance at University of Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL), who is also a CFA Charterholder. She received her Ph.D. degree from Texas Tech University. Before getting into academia, Hainan worked in Seattle, Beijing, and Singapore for a total of three years. Her current research interests include Derivatives, Real Estate, and Empirical Asset Pricing. Hainan has published papers in journals such as Real Estate Economics, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, and Journal of Real Estate Research. She has made multiple presentations at national conferences and also won several best paper awards in various occasions. Currently, she also serves as the faculty advisor for UMSL Student Investment Trust, helping students manage a portfolio over $500,000 in real money.
Dr. Yiuman Tse, Endowed Chair and Professor of Finance at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. He received his PhD from Louisiana State University in 1994. His research interests are international investments and financial markets. He has articles published in Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Econometrics, Management Science, and others. He is a CFA charterholder and certified Financial Risk Manager.
Lucien Blackwell is a passionate educator in the realm of financial planning and overall financial literacy. His mission is to arm individuals, families, small businesses, faith-based organizations and communities of color with the knowledge and insights to help them both accumulate and protect their wealth.
Professionally, Mr. Blackwell has a long track record in the financial services industry. For over 20 years, he has directed teams at Fortune 500 companies in multiple functions of corporate and personal finance. Most recently, he has been a successful advisor with Edward Jones.
He currently sits on the board of Money Smarts School of Finance for Children (MSSFC), is a commissioner for Explore St. Louis- the marketing arm for the St. Louis region armed with managing the Convention Center and the Dome, and operates as the Executive Pastor of San Francisco Temple in near North County St. Louis.
In his spare time, he loves spending time with his family/friends and is an avid lover of college football, most notably THE Ohio State Buckeyes!
Brendan Hulahan was born and raised in the St. Louis area, before deciding to attend the University of Missouri St. Louis. Brendan attended UMSL and the honors college between 2017 and 2020 where he studied finance. While at UMSL, Brendan interned at The Boeing Company for two years through the FLITE program and the part time intern program offered there. Upon graduation, he accepted an offer to work at The Boeing Company in supply chain finance as a procurement financial analyst through the business skills rotational program (BSRP). In this role, he interacts with suppliers and our supply chain to perform analysis on government regulated proposals. Currently, he is working towards his MBA and MSF at Auburn University, and will graduate in 2022.
Carmen is a graduate from UMSL's COBA and the Pierre Laclede Honors College. Currently working on her master's degree in Finance/Marketing emphasis while doing an internship at the Boeing company and managing the Finance Club.
Henry Kamkwalala is currently the Financial Business Planning Analyst for Boeing’s Commercial Derivative Aircraft team responsible for Cost Management of US Government programs which includes the KC-46 Tanker, P-8 Poseidon, B-52 and AWACS platforms. Previous to his CDA finance role, Henry was a Financial Analyst on the Boeing Global Services team managing Training & Professional Services Financial Operations.
Prior to his Boeing experience, Henry held the role of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) analyst at Quest Diagnostics Inc. where he was responsible for several business units P&Ls, led team efforts and managed workflow for a total of 4 years.
Before that, Henry served in various Finance roles of increasing responsibility at Edward Jones Home Office, spanning a period of 7 years, where he joined them as a college intern from UMSL before successfully attaining a permanent position at the end of his internship.
Overall, Henry has over 13 years of extensive experience in the Finance Industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Finance concentration, and an MBA with a Finance emphasis as well, both from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.
