The Advising Office in 303 Lucas Hall serves most majors in the College of Fine Arts & Communication (COFAC) and the College of Arts & Sciences (CAS). Advisors meet regularly with undergraduate students to discuss degree progress, course selections, and campus policies as well as refer students to other appropriate campus entities. The office is open Monday, Thursday & Friday 8am - 4pm and Tuesday & Wednesday 8am - 6pm appointments can be made at (314) 516-5501.
What do I need for an appointment?
In addition to lifting holds and registering students for classes, advisors help students understand the university's programs, requirements, policies and procedures, help answer any questions or concerns students may have, and refer students to available campus resources based on need among other administrative duties. So in order to get the most of an advisor, it helps to come in prepared. Here are several things students can do before meeting with an advisor:
Have your student number
Have a picture ID
Review your DARS
Look at the Course Catalog
Schedule an appointment
Who advises my major?
While many students in CoFAC and CAS receive advising in 303 Lucas, students in several degree programs should meet primarily with their departmental advisor. Click here for a Full list of COFAC department Advising coordinators (this link will go to a new page with present information that is up… I am almost wondering if we can add this link to a new related links section as well)
