The College of Arts and Sciences Academic Advising Office is actively engaged with our diverse UMSL community of students, staff, faculty and external constituents. We are educators who empower all of our students to create a personal plan that identifies their path to academic success. We know we are successful when our students build strong relationships within the UMSL community, make timely progress towards graduation, and transition to meaningful post-undergraduate endeavors.
As professional academic advisors, our goal is to promote excellence in advising for students by serving as a readily accessible resource on all aspects of academic advising. We do this by:
· providing drop-in advising daily to assist with quick questions, adding or dropping a course, or assistance with completing a form
· Academic advising by appointment
· Guiding students through the major exploration process if they are currently exploring majors
· Creating semester-by-semester academic plans
· Assisting and supporting students experiencing academic difficulty
· Assisting with the academic accommodations process
· Making referrals to campus resources

Most appointments last approximately 30 minutes. For newly admitted students, we require 60 minute appointments.
