What is entrepreneurship?

Entrepreneurship is the process of launching new businesses as well as championing ideas within existing organizations. At UMSL, we offer next practices in fostering 21st century skills and developing a mindset that allows innovators to move farther faster.

Skillset: Do you want to go beyond leading a meeting to leading a team with the development of an idea? Do you want to accelerate ideas into actionable plans and pitch them to leaders or venture capitalists? Our degree program doesn’t lecture outdated theory. We offer knowledge on 21st century skills including design thinking, business model canvas, and public speaking. You’ll leave with a bias towards action needed for success — whether you want to accelerate your own business or someone else’s.

Mindset: Those problems you’re going to approach — do you have a passion to solve it no matter what? Do you want to learn how to seek opportunities to create impactful solutions? It’s never been a better time to be an entrepreneur or innovator at UMSL. With practicing entrepreneurs as your guides, we use practical training to enhance your mind to think entrepreneurially. Entrepreneurship Emphasis Requirements

Along with meeting the requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, students must complete 15 credit hours of select courses to earn the entrepreneurship emphasis.

*Other elective courses may be taken with approval of program coordinator.
