Transcripts

ACP students can transfer their college credits to another university by requesting an official transcript. All official UMSL transcripts are processed through the National Student Clearinghouse. Visit their website to begin your transcript order. Students will need their 8-digit UMSL ID number or their Social Security Number to complete their transcript request.

Transferability

UMSL credits are transferable to many public and private institutions, but transfer policies will vary by school. The institution receiving the transfer credit has final say over whether and how the credit applies to students' degree path. Institutions may consider course equivalency and the grade students received in the course. For more information about how your UMSL credits are likely to transfer, utilize the following resources: 

  • Transferology: Students can find out how their college credits will transfer by entering the UMSL course number and searching for equivalent courses at other colleges/universities. Transferology is a free service, but students must create an account.

  • Course Equivalency Database: UMSL maintains its own Course Equivalency Database, showing how UMSL credits have historically transferred to other institutions. Select "I'm a University of Missouri-St. Louis student looking for an equivalent course somewhere else," enter your UMSL course information, and see if your desired institution is listed.

  • Core 42: Certain UMSL courses are part of the Missouri Core 42 Curriculum. These courses are guaranteed transferable to any public college or university in Missouri. Core 42 courses are identified with a Missouri Transfer (MOTR) number, which can be found in the ACP Course Catalog. If attending another public college in Missouri, find the courses with the same MOTR number. These courses are equivalent and easily transferred between the two institutions.

  • Contact your institution: After searching the databases, you may or may not have found the answer you were looking for. It is always a good idea to visit your desired institution's website or contact an admissions counselor to clarify their transfer credit policy. As policies change, the most reliable and up-to-date information will always come directly from the institution.

 

Syllabus Requests

In the process of reviewing transfer credits, a college/university may request to see a syllabus for the course. This usually happens if a student is the first person to attempt to transfer a particular UMSL course to that institution. 

The ACP keeps copies of all dual credit course syllabi provided by the high school instructors. If a college or university requests to see an UMSL syllabus, students can contact the ACP Office at acp@umsl.edu. The ACP Office will then retrieve and send a copy of the syllabus. Please note that this syllabus will be the same document that was originally distributed in the high school classroom. All dual credit syllabi contain the official UMSL course name, number, and description, as well as an outline of topics.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

Grades are posted after the teacher has calculated all final grades and submitted them to UMSL. Because school calendars vary, some grades will be available sooner than others. In general, dual credit grades are posted 1-2 weeks after they are submitted by the instructor.

Yes, view your course grades by logging into MyView (see MyView Access for instructions). Once logged into MyView, navigate to "Academic Records" then "My Grades." 

The UM System does not provide unofficial transcripts. Students needing anything less than an official transcript can explore the following options:

  • Students can obtain a free Enrollment Certificate, which can be used to verify enrollment status, number of credit hours enrolled, and cumulative GPA. 
  • Students can access their enrollment history in MyView. For instructions on how to log into MyView, see MyView Access. Students can find their enrollment history by navigating to "Academic Records," then "My Course History."

If there is a problem with your UMSL transcript, contact the ACP office at acp@umsl.edu. A staff member will identify and correct the issue. In certain circumstances, a transcript order can be corrected and reissued at no additional cost.
