Great education for a low, in-state price.
If you're looking for an exceptional, metropolitan learning experience, then the University of Missouri-St. Louis is for you. And if you live in the Metro East, an UMSL education is more affordable than ever.
Through a special program, undergraduate and graduate students who live in the following Illinois counties receive nearly 60 percent off their tuition. It's called the "Metropolitan Rate Program," and it enables Metro-East residents to pay in-state tuition and fees at UMSL*.
*Undergraduate and graduate applications from students who live in these select Illinois counties are reviewed for eligibility automatically. No additional application is required.

Undergraduate tuition for non-residents is $850.40 per credit hour. Our Metro Rate enables Metro-East residents to pay an in-state undergraduate tuition rate of $335.50 per credit hour. This is a savings of $514.90 per hour. With most degrees requiring a minimum of 120 credit hours, the savings add up to more than $61,000 over the course of a four-year degree.
Tuition for non-resident graduate students is $1,049.00 per credit hour versus the in-state rate of $435.80. Here, the savings are $613.20 per credit hour. The number of credit hours required for graduate degrees may vary by program, so consult your academic advisor to learn the cost savings associated with your degree through the Metro Rate.
