John Nichols

John joined the Office of Recruitment Services in August of 2008, working previously as a member of the Student Admissions Team at UMSL.

John graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Finance.  He was very involved in multiple organizations and activities on campus and has a well-rounded understanding of the college experience.  He loves how student-oriented the campus is and believes that it was very influential to his success.

In his spare time, John enjoys playing and watching virtually all sports, along with working out.  He also likes to read autobiographies of historical political figures as well as the occasional medieval fantasy novel.

His current responsibilities as an Admissions Representative include representing UMSL at high schools and college fairs in South St. Louis County as well as in Southeast Missouri.

What is your favorite place on campus? The Mercantile Library - I get an odd sense of awareness when surrounded by displays and artifacts that are over 100 years old.

What is your favorite food in the Nosh? It would have to be a turkey and swiss Panini with tomatoes, light lettuce, light pickles, and banana peppers by a long shot.  It also has to be made by Nancy, she is the nicest person and makes the best sandwiches.

What advice do you have for entering Freshmen? Take advantage of extra-curricular activities and campus organizations. The experiences you gain and connections you make from being involved are priceless. Also, major in something you love to do, not what will make you the most money. Have fun! College is a GREAT experience!
