Schools and Colleges

What makes you feel challenged and ready to face the world? At UM-St. Louis, we offer a broad array of program curricula in our seven colleges of study:

College of Nursing - If your goal is to improve the nation's health by learning, sharing, and applying your knowledge, the College of Nursing at UM-St. Louis is the place for you.

College of Arts and Sciences - The wide variety of courses and programs exposes you to a broad base of knowledge to prepare you for today's ever-changing world and global business arena. A starting point for freshmen, the College offers liberal arts courses that form the basis for every student's degree program at UM-St. Louis.

College of Business Administration at UM-St. Louis is one of a select group of U.S. business schools that is fully accredited by the nation's premier accrediting agency for collegiate business education, AACSB International - the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

College of Education - Nationally recognized for academic excellence and innovation in early childhood, elementary, secondary, physical education, and special education, the UM-St. Louis College of Education produces more K-12 teachers than any other institution in Missouri.

College of Fine Arts and Communication - was created in the Fall of 2001 and includes the Departments of Art and Art History, Communication, and Music.  A newly created Department of Theatre and Dance began offering courses in the the fall of 2002.

College of Optometry at UM-St. Louis trains its students to prevent, detect, diagnose, treat, and manage visual and ocular problems.

Engineering - The UM-St. Louis/Washington University Joint Undergraduate Engineering Program, offered by UM-St. Louis in partnership with Washington University combines the resources and faculties of both universities to provide excellent, affordable undergraduate degree programs in civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering.

Pierre Laclede Honors College enriches students' experience at UM-St. Louis by stretching, their intellects through small, interactive seminars and individual research projects.
